Forehead & Temple
Upper Third
The frontal and temporal region. Anatomical basis for Browlift and midface access.
Anatomical Layers
1
Skin
Thicker at glabella, thin at temple
2
Subcutaneous
Contains superficial vessels
3
Galea/STF
Galea centrally, Superficial Temporal Fascia laterally
4
Subgaleal Space
Avascular dissection plane
5
Periosteum
Firmly attached to bone
Critical Structures
Supraorbital Nerve
Emerges from supraorbital foramen. Sensory to forehead.
Protection: Identify position before dissection
Supratrochlear Nerve
Medial to supraorbital. Sensory to glabella.
Protection: Preserve during temporal access
Frontal Branch of Facial
Motor to frontalis. Crosses zygomatic arch.
Protection: Subperiosteal dissection at arch
Superficial Temporal Fascia
Continuation of SMAS at temple.
Protection: Safe dissection plane
