The Short Answer
The final facelift result is seen between 6-12 months after surgery. Before that, residual edema, scarring and tissue accommodation are still ongoing.
Month by Month Evolution
Week 1: You’ll hate how you look. Normal. Very swollen. Week 2-3: “I’m starting to see something”. 50-60% of edema resolved. Month 1: Presentable. Others notice you look “good”. Still swollen. Month 2-3: Good result, but scars still pink. Month 6: Result close to final. 90% there. Month 12: Final result. Mature scars, settled tissues.
Important Tip
“Don’t judge your result before 3 months. Many patients worry unnecessarily in the first weeks by not understanding that swelling distorts everything.”
